The purpose of these three awards is to enable the students to acquire the knowledge, skills, and competence to work under supervision in providing support in a variety of Healthcare settings or to progress to further and or higher education and training. The specialist modules allow students to select based on their chosen area of interest.  In response to a growing ageing population and the development of care of the Older Person services in Ireland, the demand for skilled and competent healthcare assistants is expected to grow significantly over the coming years whereas a Physiotherapy Assistant works with a Physiotherapist to assess and treat people whose movement is restricted by injury, illness or age.
